This week, catch the Toronto premier of the much-awaited Taqwacore: The Birth of Punk Islam:
Three years in the making, this feature documentary follows the progression of the Muslim Punk scene: from its imaginary inception in a novel written by a white-convert named Michael Muhammad Knight to a full-blown, real-life scene of Muslim punk bands and their fans.

It's playing Friday the 16th, Saturday the 17th, and Sunday the 18th at the Royal Cinema at 608 College St.
After the screenings on Friday and Saturday, join us at a show! Friday night will be an acoustic gig at the Concord Cafe , and Saturday will be the big loud-as-hell punk rock show at the El Mocambo.
I'm playing with my band Secret Trial Five on Saturday night, and maybe doing a solo acoustic set tonight (Friday). Come!
